Celtics 3rd team fought back 3 times to share the spoils at home to Enfield on Sat. Goals by Dimmy Higgins who also missed a pen, James Costello and Ciaran Quinn pen. Celtic had enough chances to win game but had toy settle for a point. Best for Trim Higgins, Quinn and Costello

Celtic went down 1 nil to Kells-Blackwater in the Reilly Cup on Sat. Celtic played well throughout game but could not find the net. Barry O’Callaghan made some fine saves in goal for the Trim side.
Kells scored in the 60th minute when a corner fell to a Kells player who headed past O’Callaghan. Best for Trim were O’Callaghan and his backline and Reilly in midfield

Trim Celtic & Athboy fought out a 9 goal thriller at Tully Park on Sat. Celtic raced into a 3 goal lead after 10min with goals from Thomas Noone, Dimmy Higgins and a pen from Jamie Lee. Athboy pulled a goal back to make it 3-1 at halftime.
Athboy scored early in the 2nd half to make it 3-2. Adam Whelan put Celtic 4-2 up but again Athboy scored 4-3. Both teams were attacking, the game could have went either way, Thomas Noone got his 2nd of the match 5-3. Athboy got a late goal 5-4 but Celtic held out to claim the 3 points. (Well done lads) Best for Trim Celtic were Noone, Higgins, Lee, Quinn, Patterson

Trim Celtic had Club Chairman Robert Bradley in goal in this match. The veteran made some fine saves in a 3-2 win with goals from Adam Whelan, Stephen Moriarty and Diarmuid Higgins. A strong wind made it difficult to play football but Celtic held out for a well deserved win. Best for Trim Celtic were Adam Whelan, Michael Reilly and James Costello

Celtic’s 3rds took a two goal lead in this game with goals from Thomas Noone and Adam Whelan. However they let their concentration slip and Athboy staged a spirited fight back to lead 3 – 2. In the dying minutes Eunan McGrenra equalised for a share of the points.

Celtic’s 3rd team went down 2-1 away to Rossin Rovers. Celtic went a goal down after 25 minutes on a very bumpy pitch that was difficult to play football on. Despite having much of the play Celtic could not find an equaliser in the first half.
Five minutes into the second half Rossin doubled their lead. Celtic responded well and were awarded a penalty when Eunan McGrenra was fouled in the box. Jamie Lee converted the penalty, Celtic pushed forward in search of an equaliser and were unlucky not to share the points with Lee Noone and Reilly going close. Best for Trim were Kennedy, Lee, Reilly and Patterson

Celtic’s 3rd team went down by the odd goal to Johnstown. The game only got going when Johnstown were awarded a penalty when Michael Reilly clipped the Johnstown forward in the box. Michael Lydon saved the penalty but the taker finished the rebound. Celtic battled hard and Eunan McGrenra came close. Celtic did get level when Jamie Lee played a long ball to Adam Whelan who put the ball past the Johnstown keeper.
Celtic went pressing for a winner and were caught out with Johnstown made it 2-1 with a few minutes remaining. Jamie Lee came close to equalising, the lads battled hard and were unlucky not to get a draw.

Trim Celtic’s 3rd team had to settle for a point despite taking a three-goal lead during the game. Diarmuid Higgins headed home a free kick to put Celtic in the lead and Adam Whelan doubled their lead on the half hour. Trim Celtic ‘keeper Michael Lydon also saved an Oldcastle penalty during the first half.
A superb goal by Thomas Noone had Trim 3 – 0 up after an hour but a spirited Oldcastle side fought back to force a draw. Best for Trim Celtic were Michael Lydon, Mikey Reilly and Diarmuid Higgins

Celtic’s 3rd team went down 2-1 to league leaders Johnstown in the MDL. Celtic started well and Thomas Noone put Celtic ahead in the 10th minute when Adam Whelan put him through but a mix-up in the Celtic let Johnstown in for an equaliser. Celtic had First team manager Dominic Martin in goal as Michael Lydon was ill on the day.
Johnstown were awarded a penalty ten minutes from time when John Shaw was adjudged to have handled the ball when it clearly hit his chest. The Johnstown player put the penalty to Martin’s left to make it 2-1. To make things worse Jamie Lee saw red in t6he last few minutes. But the lads are doing well in their first season as senior players

Enfield Celtic 1 – 2 Trim Celtic

Trim Celtics 3rds picked up 3 points with a well earned win away to Enfield. Celtic were well on top throughout the game. Midway through the first half Celtic had a corner there was a scramble in the box, an Enfield player handled the ball, the ref pointed to the spot and showed the red card to the player. Jamie Lee stepped up but put the penalty left and wide. But the young Celtic players didn’t drop their heads and on the 35th minute another David Campbell header was met by Dimmy Higgins who put Celtic 1 up at halftime.
The back line of Celtic were playing very well and the midfield of Adam Whelan were superb throughout but Enfield kept pushing forward to make it 1-1. Ten minutes from time a superb 20 yard strike from Adam Whelan made it 2-1 to Celtic. Best for Trim were Whelan, Higgins, Lee and Patterson.

Kingscourt came out winners in a tough game at Tully Park on Sat. In a game Celtic should have got a draw. With the Trim keeper also saving a pen. Dimmy Higgins went close on a few occasions. Kenneth Patterson scored for Celtic in 2nd half. Best for Trim were Lydon and Higgins.

Celtic’s 3rd team picked up their first points of the season away to Agher on Saturday with a fine 5-0 win. A brace of goals by Thomas Noone and Donal Loughlin and one from Jamie Lee sealed the win.
Celtic were two up at halftime and could have scored a few more with the pairing of Noone and Loughlin going close. A fine second half performance from the team put the game beyond doubt. Shaw and Campbell in defence played well.

Trim Celtic’s young 3rd team went down 1-0 to Blackbull. The Celtic back line played very well throughout the game but were caught out ten minutes into the second half when a Blackbull player who was at least 2 yards offside lobbed the ball over Michael Lydon. Celtic had chances with Donal Loughlin, Jamie Lee with a freekick and Thomas Noone all going close. Best for Trim Celtic were Shaw, Patterson and Whelan.
