Match Report

Trim Celtic travelled to the Walshestown FC on Saturday for their 3rd game of the season. With honours even in a tight game Trim took the lead after 20 mins when a through ball from Maciej Korba found Finn Dardis who squared the ball to Ben McCreary who finished well from the edge of the box. Trim's lead did not last long when the hosts equalised with a fine strike from outside the box. Just before half time Trim regained the lead with another fine finish from Ben McCreay after good work in the middle of the park from Mattie O'Connor.
In the second half Walshestown equalised to leave the score at 2-2 with 20 mins remaining. A bizarre penalty decision allowed Walshestown take the lead for the first time. The Trim players were gutted when after a brilliant tackle in the box by Adam Gillen the referee, to the astonishment of everybody, pointed to the spot. This knocked the stuffing out of the Trim lads and Walshestown went on to score some more goals to claim the 3 points. Up next for the lads is a home tie in Tully Park against our near neighbours Bohermeen FC.
