Kilmessan came to Tully Park for the return fixture and started the game really well and taking the lead. Trim woke up and levelled from a penalty that was won and convertedby Lee Dixon. Niall Farrell doubled Celtic’s lead converting from a tight angle. The home side lost Ruairi Shortt to injury midway through the half with Cian Mc Carthy coming on to add a bit of pace to the attack
Celtic had a great start to the second half with good work from top goal scorer Lee Dixon to set up veteran Keith Jones whose speculative shot proved too hot to handle for the visiting keeper. Kilmessan efforts to play the ball out from the back suited Celtic who pressed them hard to regain possession with McCarthy working tirelessly and setting up substitute Paul Bartley for a four goal. Kilmessan gave themselves a lifeline with a superb strike into the top corner scored but there was to be no comeback as Trim scored with their next attack. Dean Rowlands superb deep cross found Bartley who cleverly headed across the box for full back Colm Moriarty to nod home. Bartley added his second before the final whistle.
Best for Trim Celtic were Keith Jones, Lee Dixon and Colm Moriarty
