Trim Celtic advanced to the next round of the Tully Bookmakers Challenge Cup following an incident packed game which included 4 goals, 3 red cards and a misses penalty. The home side took the lead on 15 minutes from a free kick but were reduced to 10 men in the 30th minute. Celtic equalised through Colm Carney in the 60th minute but almost instantly Parkvilla spurned a perfect chance to retake the lead. A foul by Robbie Dillon meant he saw red for a second yellow card but Jake Caffrey saved former Celtic player Lar Ivers’ penalty. With 15 minutes to go Dean Courtney’s freekick rebounded off the crossbar but was superbly finished by Conor Walsh. Carney’s second in injury time sealed the victory with Ciaran O’Connell also receiving a second yellow card before the final whistle.
