Match Report

The under 13 Premier side travelled to a blustery Watters Lane to play Parkvilla. Recent games between the sides have been very tight affairs and another was expected. Trim started brightly and were playing some fine football, dominating possession for periods and defending as a unit when required. Multiple goal chances were created but the final finish didn't come, half time 0-0.
Trim, happy with their first half performance started the second half with the wind at their backs and continued to play attractive football and battle for every ball. The break throught came mid way through the second half, after some good interplay the ball ended up with the goal bound Harry O'Connor who settled himself and calmly placed the ball to the corner of the net. Trim continued to show great endeavour for the remaining 15 minutes and looked like winning all the points. With one minute to go the on-rushing Diarmuid Doyle made a fine save, colliding with an attacker in the process which was deemed a penalty and duly converted. Trim pushed for a winner and had goal chances in injury time, showing the never say die attitude of this squad. A cruel finish for Trim but this was arguably one of this squads best displays.
