Match Report

Parkvilla away is always a tough fixture and so it proved again this morning for Trim`s u15 Div 1 team. Parkvilla were very good but the scoreline didn`t do justice to Trim`s performance and effort. From the outset Trim were under pressure but coped well in the main. After 20 minutes Parkvilla got the opener after a goalmouth scramble. They scored two more before the break and their dominance was reflected in the scoreline as Trim found it hard to threaten the Parkvilla goal in the first half.
The second half was a different affair as Trim pressed higher up the field and pushed their defense line towards halfway. Trim began to have more possession in Parkvilla`s half and it took good defending from the home team to snuff out chances for Aaron O Connor, Shaun Mulryan and Sam Lynch. But this is a good Parkvilla team and midway through the half they scored after Henri Devine spilled a rasping shot. As Trim tired form their efforts two more goals were conceded late on. It could have been worse but for two marvellous saves from Henri Devine. The first of these is worth mentioning as it was a flying save where Henri tipped over the bar what looked like a certain goal. It was as good a save as you`d see at any level and drew admiring applause from both sidelines. Despite the scoreline this was a decent effort form Trim and with a bit more work this team will beegin to get results. Aidan Scott and Sam Lynch palyed well ina crowded midfield in the first half. The defence and in particular Sean McPhillips, Oisin Gallagher , Finn O Connor and second half keeper Henri Devine were best for Trim throughout.
