Match Report

A week that started badly for Celtic finished in similar fashion as they slipped to a deserved defeat away to early pacesetters Kingscourt. Already deprived of their top scorer Mark Cunningham, who will miss the remainder of the season following a nasty knee injury sustained in training, Celtic were left with only twelve fit players for the trip to Cavan. In what was an untypical first half display Celtic were second to every breaking ball and fell behind after twenty minutes when failure to pick up the wide runners cost them dearly. Kingscourt doubled their lead on half time following a corner and Celtic could have no complaints. The second half was better for Celtic as they pushed to try and get back into the game but the most they had to show for their efforts was an Evan deCourcey Tobin volley which hit the crossbar with the rebound saved at point blank range from an Oran Kirby shot. Best on the day for Celtic were Adam Wilson and Fionn McEvoy. All involved with the team would like to wish Mark all the very best on the long road to recovery and we hope to see him back in the hoops for next season.
Trim Celtic: Kevin Dalton, Eoin Gaffney, Andrew Gibney, Adam Wilson, Eoghan Lenehan, Liam Reilly, Cian Russell, Oran Kirby, Evan deCourcey Tobin, Fionn McEvoy, Conor McGinley
