Match Report

Trim Celtic's 15 Premier Team got their league campaign off to a good start with a 4-1 away win over a competitive Kells Blackwater side. Celtic started the brighter with both Ciaran Caulfield & Jacob Akigbesote coming close on a number of occasions. And 25 minutess into the first half they got their reward after some excellent play from Akigbesote on the right wing as he cut past 3 Kells players to setup Caulfield, who finished in style. 5 minutes later Joey Cole made a defence splitting pass to setup Caulfield for his second of the match. The speed & movement of Celtic front three were causing the Kells defence problems and Celtic soon made it 3-0, this time after good work from Sean Mc Donnell, Caulfield turned provider to setup James Molloy who made an excellent run from midfield to tap home.
The second half was a much tighter affair as the home team fought for everything and pushed more players forward. Their efforts deserved a goal which came with 10 minutess to go, a great strike into the top corner. Kells continued to pile on the pressure but some great defending and effort by the Celtic lads kept them out. After a fantastic save from Celtic’s keeper James Bourke, Trim killed the game with 5 minutes to go when some good work from Conor O’Hare on the wing setup Sean McDonnell, who turned his man and finished in style into the bottom corner to win the game 4-1. Best for Trim for Celtic were Jacob Akigbesote, Ciaran Caulfield, Joey Cole & Wes Gibbons.
