Two stunning goals from Jack O’Keeffe sealed the victory and Premier Division title for Trim Celtic. O’Keeffe had the first opportunity to break the deadlock but his long range effort just missed the target. Brian Faulkner rattled the bar with a header but it was Parkvilla who took the lead from the penalty spot after Aaron Ryan was adjudged to have fouled in the box. Paddy Brophy should have drawn the Celts level but couldn’t convert Conor Walsh’s free kick from 6 yards.
The home side started the second half strongly forcing a fine save from the ‘Villa keeper. Aaron Williams thought he had found the equaliser but his goal was chalked off as the ball had gone out of play in the buildup. The leveller did come eventually as Cillien Corcoran prodded home from close range. The stage was no set for O’Keeffe to work his magic as he curled home the lead goal with a superb free kick before sealing the deal in injury time with another stunning strike from outside the box queueing huge celebrations on the home sideline. Following the final whistle Celtic captain James Goggins lifted the Premier Division trophy.
