Match Report

Trim Celtic left it late to book their place in 2nd round of the Challenge Cup as they twice came from behind to beat Newtown Utd at Tully Park. The visitors took the lead midway through the first half but Celtic got back on level terms through an O.G.
Early in the second half Newtown retook the lead and things went from bad to worse for the Trim side when Paddy Brophy was dismissed. Alan Murphy’s substitutes came up trumps again Aaron Williams won a penalty which Dean Courtney converted to level the game. With five minutes left Cillien Corcoran scored for the 4th game running converting from close range before Williams & Courtney combined again to win and convert a second penalty to finish the scoring with the last kick of the game.
