It was to be a disappointing day for Celtic as they opened the season with a defeat at home to Boyne Harps. The visitors took the lead in the first 15 but Anto Burke equalised for the home side shortly after. The Harps retook the lead and despite their keeper being tested in a few occasions they were able to see out their lead until the final whistle.
