Match Report

Trim Celtic Reserves travelled to Duleek for the second time in a week and came away with a better result on this occasion. Playing up the hill in the first half with a strong breeze blowing into their faces Celtic did not start well and Duleek took the lead and added another to make it 2-0at half time.
Celtic got to grips with the game in the second half and started to dominate. Aaron Winters, Aaron Newman and Declan Dowling were sprung off the bench to change the game and within minutes of coming on Winters won a penalty which Anthony Craig put away. Craig had a hand in the equaliser when he floated in a free kick which Aaron Newman flicked home to equalise with a few minutes left on the clock with the game ending level on 90 minutes.
Neither side made a breakthrough in the first period of extra time but five minutes into the second half Paul Bartley swung in a free kick and Anthony Craig headed home at the near post to seal the victory for Celtic and cap off a fine performance. Great fighting spirit was shown by the lads today to come back from 2 down to win. Best for Trim were Anthony Craig and Paul Munnelly.
