Match Report
This top of the table clash did not disappoint Bohermeen with the Trim side coming out victorious by the odd goal in five. With Trim Celtic only dropping two points from their six previous games and Bohermeen Celtic winning all five of theirs this was always going to be a tight game between the two sides who have already opened up a gap on the rest of the league. Trim started well in the opening 10 minutes but once Bohermeen got going it was end to end with chances coming at either end. It was the away side that took the lead as great play down the left from Ruairi Shortt and Lee Dixon won the hoops a corner. Dixon swung it in and Niall Farrell acrobatically flicked the ball into the net at the near post for his fifth goal of the season. Dixon provided another assist with a defence splitting pass which Shortt latched on to and put it under the keeper that left it 2-0 at the break
Bohermeen didn't give up and got into their stride with two quick goals in the middle of the half to leave trim reeling. Indeed Robbie Westphal had to be at his best to stop the home side taking. With momentum in Bohermeen’s favour Celtic had to battle back in to the game and with 10 minutes to go scored the winner when Anthony Craig set Shortt off down the right wing and again he coolly finished under the keeper. The remaining minutes were tense but Trim Celtic held on for an excellent win. Best for Trim Celtic were Ruarie Shortt, Mark Corrigan and Leon O’Neill.
