Match Report

Trim Celtic produced their most exciting display of football this season to date, against local rivals Parkvilla in front of a big crowd at Tully Park. Nathan Costello opened the scoring with his first effort on goal after 2 mins with Connor Higgins making it 2-0 to the home side on 16 mins. Parkvilla had only one attempt on goal during the first half which Gerrard Dwane cleared brilliantly off the line. Costello and Scott O'Leary both hit the woodwork in the first half and Celtic probably felt they should have had a greater half time lead.
The second half display and effort from the Trim Celtic young guns will go down as one of the best ever team performances in Tully Park. From the goalkeeper to defence, midfield and attack Trim out fought and out played Parkvilla and kept possession of the ball for long spells of the match. Aran Condren chipped in a fantastic cross from the right wing onto the head of Nathan Costello who with his back to goal produced a magnificent backward looping header to make it 3-0 on 50 mins. The goal of the game came on 72mins with Scott O'Leary producing a moment of magic superbly controlling and volleying the impressive Jack Murray's 40 yard pass into the far top corner of the net where the ball rested in the stanchion. O'Leary was also involved in the 5th and final goal on 78mins when he was brought down in the box following a sweeping move through defence and midfield. He dusted himself down and dispatched the kick perfectly to top of a fantastic team performance which leaves Celtic only needing 1 point from 3 games to take the title.
