Trim Celtic's title hopes were dashed with this home defeat to rivals Duleek. Celtic dominated the early exchanges but we're restricted to long range efforts by a stubborn Duleek defence. Tommy Farrell came closest when his free kick hit the angle of the woodwork. Celtic eventually took the lead when Mark Corrigan's shot was too powerful for the Duleek keeper to hold with Conor Daly on hand to slot home the rebound. Tommy Farrell again tested the frame of the goal with a looping header from Mantas Morkunas' cross. However shortly before halftime The visitors equalised with a speculative effort from outside the box in a rare attack. Both teams went flat in the second half but the game swung when influential defender Johnny Corrigan was sent off for a professional foul. Celtic went for the wim but couldn't test the Duleek keeper and were caught out when a defensive error led to the concession of a penalty with 5 minutes remaining which proved to be the winner.
