Johnstown vs Trim Celtic U14

Sat 27 Sep 14
Score: 1 - 3

Match Report

Trim Celtic scorers: Josh Costello 2 (20, 63 pen), Mickey Cole (70) Johnstown started brightly and had the best of the opening exchanges as Trim Celtic found it difficult to get used to the speed of the astro pitch.
Celtic were forced into an early change as Ryan Fagan took a very hard knock and had to be replaced. Johnstown took the lead on 20 minutes but soon after were reduced to ten when their striker was sent off. Celtic took full control of the match from that point and Thomas Costello was very unlucky not to score on 27 minutes with a long-range shot that hit the crossbar with the keeper beaten.
Celtic started the second half as they finished the first and levelled with Josh Costello finishing off a fine move down the left. The Trim side took the lead when Thomas Doonan was taken down in the box and Josh Costello stepped up to convert from the spot. Mickey Cole scored Celtic’s third and final goal with a super piece of skill.
