Match Report

Trim Celtic scorer: Aran Condren
Trim Celtic's U17s returned to NECSL league action following their last two weeks of cup outings. Undefeated in the league this season they travelled to league leaders Kells-Blackwater hoping to close the gap at the top to 5 points. Trim were out of the blocks early with former Kells-Blackwater player Aran Condren finding the back of the net after just 3 minutes assisted by Nathan Costello. This goal proved to be the winner and the solitary effort on target during the whole game. Kells-Blackwater battled hard on what was a wet sticky pitch which made it difficult for both teams to play football. Scott O'Leary and Mark Foy were excellent in defence while new signing Jack Murray and Jordan Bennett won the midfield battle. Charlie Ennis,Aran Condren and goal keeper Nathan Sheridan also performed well, but it was centre back Mark Foy's performance that stood out for the away side. Trim are now 5 points off the lead and have a massive 6 games in hand on first placed Kells-Blackwater.
