Match Report
Both teams started brightly, but despite Donal McGale having a great chance after 3 minutes it was Athboy who took the lead from a long kick out after 5 minutes. The Gunners settled into the game after this without really creating too many chances, however 5 minutes before half time they were back on level terms following a long range shot by David Boyle. Within 2 minutes Trim Celtic Gunners had taken into lead with a goal from Ciaran Caulfield.
The second half began with the Gunners pressing for a third which duly arrived 5 minutes in from a corner, the ball being expertly finished by Cealain Geraghty. The Gunners extended their lead to 4-1 through Ciaran Caulfield, Athboy pulled 1 back but the Gunners scored twice more through Oisin Cumiskey and Ciaran Caulfield. There were two late goals, 1 for Athboy and the final Trim goal scored by Evan Smyth. Best for the Gunners on the day were Dylan Smith, David White & Ciaran Caulfield.
