Match Report

Both teams started brightly in this match and despite the Gunners having numerous chances it was Kentstown who took the lead following a goalmouth scramble. Both teams continued to have chances up to half time with no further score. Things changed 10 minutes into the 2nd half when David Boyle scored from an acute angle to level the match at 1-1. Unfortunately within 2 minutes Kentstown were in front again following a long hopeful ball into the box. The Gunners kept fighting and thought they were level when a great through ball from Ciaran Caulfield was expertly finished by Aaron McComack only for the referee to harshly rule it out for offside. This seemed to knock the Gunners back a bit and Kentstown finished the match of with a fine goal just before the end. In an impressive all round performance for the Gunners the best players on the day were Josh Harris, David Boyle and Ciaran Caulfield in midfield with Aaron McCormack excellent in attack.
