Match Report

Trim Celtic scorers: Liam Reilly (30 mins), Andreas Lopez (32 mins) Trim Celtic overcame a shaky start against their Premier Division opponents to record their third straight win which took them to the top of the league with the only 100% record in the division. The early kick-off seemed to effect Trim as they struggled to keep up with the Summerhill side in the opening exchanges but some last ditch tackles and some safe handling from ‘keeper Luke Doyle kept the scores level until 20 minutes in. A speculative cross from the left fell nicely for Parkceltic and the Trim ‘keeper had no chance with the finish. Trim Celtic refused to allow their heads to drop however and even the absence of influential captain James Murray could not hold them back and they duly equalised with the last kick of the half. Some good work by Evan deCourcy Tobin allowed him the space to play the ball in behind the Summerhill defence from there Liam Reilly did the rest, nipping in front of the defender and showing great pace and composure to curl the ball into the top corner from the edge of the area. The second half started as the first half finished, with Trim side on the attack, and another good move was rewarded when Andreas Lopez finished high into the net with an unstoppable shot from twenty yards just two minutes in. Trim went on to create further chances with Evan deCourcy Tobin a whisker away with a header from an Andrew Gibney cross. The closing exchanges were fairly fraught with Parkceltic Summerhill coming close on a couple of occasions right at the end but Trim Celtic held firm to record their first win against Summerhill at the fourth time of asking. Best from Trim Celtic were Liam Reilly, Mark Cunningham and Eoghan Lenehan. Trim Celtic: Luke Doyle, Eoin Gaffney, Oran Kirby, Mark Cunningham, Eoghan Lenehan, Conor McGinley, Adam Wilson, Andreas Lopez, Andrew Gibney, Liam Reilly, Evan deCourcy Tobin Subs: Fionn McEvoy (for Kirby), Kevin McGowan, Jack Vaughan, Adam Ryan, Reece Thompson
