Match Report

Trim Celtic scorers: James Murray 2 (15 pen, 25), Evan DeCourcey Tobin (40)
Trim Celtic continued their excellent start to the U13 Premier league season with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Parkvilla in a bruising encounter in Tully Park. Following a fairly even start Celtic opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 15 minutes when James Murray converted the spot kick following a foul on Andreas Lopez. With that goal under their belt Trim grew in confidence and it was no surprise when they doubled their lead just before half-time. Some great work down the left wing from Liam Reilly and James Murray saw Parkvilla concede a free kick for deliberate handball. From the resulting free-kick James Murray found the bottom corner of the net with a fine strike. The second half started brightly and after ten minutes Celtic scored their third goal when Evan DeCourcey Tobin chased down a shot and managed to nick the ball from the ‘keeper before slotting home from a tight angle. From then on a watertight Celtic defence shut out any threat from Parkvilla with Adam Wilson superb and goalkeeper Luke Doyle producing an excellent save to claim his second clean sheet in two games. Towards the end there were injuries to Mark Cunningham, Andrew Gibney and Andreas Lopez but the substitutes came in and performed admirably as Celtic kept their shape well in the final stages.
