Match Report

Trim Celtic U13, unbeaten in five pre-season friendlies, started their league campaign with a well deserved win away to newly promoted Robinstown. Following a sustained period of early pressure Celtic took the lead with a well taken goal from Andreas Lopez who beat two players before rounding the 'keeper and slotting the ball home. Andreas went on to have two further chances this half but could only find the side netting, while Robinstown were unlucky to clip the crossbar with a free kick. The second half was more keenly contested with Robinstown having plenty of the ball but a resolute Celtic defence, with Oran Kirby outstanding, kept them at bay. With ten minutes to go the contest was settled when man of the match James Murray picked the ball up in his own half to curl in an unstoppable shot from 25 yards. Celtic went on to create some more good chances with Liam Reilly and Jack Vaughan coming close but the game was to finish with no further goals. Best for Trim were James Murray, Andreas Lopez and Adam Wilson.
