Trim Celtic's run of defeats continued with this heavy defeat at windswept Sandy Lane. The home side took the lead within three minutes when a long pass split the Trim Celtic defence and their striker finished well. The home side doubled their lead midway through the half when a low cross was deflected off Trim defender David Conway into the net. With a considerable breeze at their backs in the second half the Trim side started brightly with the introduction of Mark Corrigan giving them an extra creative threat. It was from the aforementioned player that the visitor gave themselves hope when Corrigan superbly put Tommy Farrell through to score. The home side were pinned back for long periods of the half but a mistake in the Trim defence allowed them in to score a third with 15 minutes to go. Trim heads dropped from this point and Rock punished then with two more goals close to fulltime.
