Trim Celtic put in a superb performance to brush aside Ardee Celtic in their first game of the season. Leading by Eoin O’Connor and Tommy Farrell goals at halftime the Trim side upped the tempo in the second half. O’Connor, on his senior debut, went on to complete his hat-trick and did Farrell who went on to get five, equalling a club record for goals in a senior competitive match. Scott McGowan, who provided assists to at least three goals, was also on target, as was Niall Farrell. Kevin Nally also caught the eye on his debut.
