Match Report

It is better to be lucky than rich! Immense pride is what I feel today despite the result. The football that this Trim team played today would be worth paying in for. From the stalwart defence to the brilliant attacking football of the midfield and forwards. How the ball did not go in to the Parkceltic net at least 10 times has me bewildered and thinking there was some kind of magnetic force in front of the oppposition's goal that kept on deflecting the ball wide or over as their keeper was beaten all ends up. Our execution of the offside trap in defence was brilliant. With the exception of a fantastic double save from close range that David de Gea would have been proud of by the brilliant Jamie Doonan in goals for us for the first time this Trim Team had this game in their control. We bet their offside trap so many times and had at least 7 or 8 one on ones with the keeper and some how the ball just would not go in. The trim team seemed bewildered as to what they had to do to score and Summerhill took full advantage to score first. Evan McCormack came on and showed us how to score and equalised the game. We had chance after chance and yet again we failed to score. A quick counter attack which some felt was offside put Summerhill ahead. At least 6 or 7 players off our team have 3 or more clear cut chances on goal and we still couldn't score. The team was magnificent and even now the scoreline doesn't make sense. Man of the match was Josh Cosgrove. Captain for today Yero Konate did everything right except score and did deserve a couple of goals. Heroic performances from the whole team. The wins will come.
