Match Report

Celtic U15 Premier made it 3 wins in a row to remain top of the table in a hard fought win over a battling Johnstown FC side in the Tully Park sunshine. The first 20 minutes saw very few chances as both teams cancelled each other out. However, Celtic started to create some chances as Mc Donnell, Sean Tully & James Molloy all had good efforts just wide of the target. With half time approaching Blake Gibbons found Sean Mc Donnell in some space of the left and he cut in and finished in style to put Celtic 1-0 up at the break.
On 48 minutes, Johnstown finished off an excellent counterattacking move to level the game at 1-1. In a tactical move, O’Hare pushed further forward and it paid off after he delivered an excellent pass behind the Johnstown defence to Mc Donnell who took his time and his deflected shot looped over the keeper to put Celtic back in front 2-1. Kris Gorman, who was excellent again throughout the game, got his reward following an excellent corner delivered by Molloy. The ball broke off Aaron Mc Cormack and Gorman was on hand to score his first of the season and claim all 3 points for the home team. Sean McDonnel was man of the Match.
