Match Report

There was mixed weather this morning for the game between Trim Celtic and Navan Town at the MDL. Trim were looking for their first win of the season and were marginally the better team in an entertaining clash. Trim got off to a good start with a 2nd minute goal from Adrian Bisczs who finished well from a beautiful pass from Aaron O'Connor. Celtic were in control of the game for the next 20 minutes but failed to increase their lead. They paid the price for this on 22 minutes when some sloppy defending allowed Navan to equalise. Navan now began to play and went into the lead on 32 minutes. To their credit Trim almost immediately equalised trhough Donal McGale who blasted to the net with almost his first touch. Two minutes later Adrian Bisczs scored his second and Trim`s third on the stroke of half time. The second half saw Trim primarily on top with Navan struggling to get attacks going against a strong wind which had picked up through the half. Trim conceded very few opportunities in the half and stand in keeper Finn O'Connor did what little he had to do very well. Trim had chances to make the game safe but it wasn`t until the final minute that Donal McGale finished inside the left handpost after a strong run through the Navan defence. Besides the two goalscorers best for Trim were Aaron O'Connor, Kacper Jagodzinski, Nathan McCormack and Sean McPhillips.
Trim Celtic squad: Finn O Connor, Nathan McCormack , Oisin Gallagher, Kacper Jagodzinski, Sean Mc Phillips, Arnas Mineikis, Aaron O Connor, Donal McGale, Aidan Scott, Adrian Biszcs, Sam Lynch, Dylan Smith
