Match Report

Trim went into this game in good form, but they found it hard to break down this Virgina side. After some wasted chances Celtic eventually took the lead after a brilliant run from Justin Barbu who crossed for Tommy Doonan to tap home from close range. The lead didn't last for long though as Virginia broke on a counter attack and split the Trim defence with the Virginia striker finishing neatly into the bottom corner to make it 1-1. The Hoops went 2-1 up from a Sean Foley tap in again from close range. Celtic were starting to dominate against a strong Virginia side and extended their lead to 3-1 just before the break with a long range Josu Barcos effort that flew by the Virginia keeper into the net.
The second half was more of a game of possession with not many chances as both teams were defending so well. With a few minutes to go Josu Barcos put trim 4-1 after some lovely footwork to finish well.
Celtic's unbeaten run now stretches to 6 games with 5 of them being wins and they are now top of the table. Trim Celtic: Peter Brennan, Dylan Swan, Adam Boyle, Jake Carolan, Adam Dunne, Justin Barbu, Conor McKeown, Gary Fleming, Josu Barcos, Cael Roe, Sean Foley Subs Conor Mangan (for Barcos), Tommy Doonan (for Roe) and Kyle Smith (for Barbu)
