Match Report

Trim Celtic U15 Premier side continued their winning form with a comfortable 7-0 league home win against newly promoted Oldcastle Utd.
Celtic looked sharp and confident from the start and it only took 6 mins to take the lead. After some great work on the left David Boyle setup Jared Akigbesote for what is becoming a trademark finish with a right foot shot that found the inside the far post. Within a couple of minutes, Conor O’Hare cannoned a long range effort of the crossbar. Three minutes later O’Hare tried his luck from distance again but this time the ball dipped below the crossbar to make it 3-0. Celtic continued to keep possession and attack at will. However, the Oldcastle Utd keeper made some excellent saves, particularly one against Aaron Mc Cormack to keep the score 3-0 at Half Time.
Celtic replaced the injured Mc Cormack for last years leading goal scorer Ciaran Caulfield and James Molloy replaced the hard working Kris Gorman. And it only took the 2 subs 2 minutes to combine when Molloy broke the Oldcastle defense to setup Caulfield who ran clear to finish calmly for the fourth goal. With space in behind Conor O’Hare released Caulfield to score a second 2 goal in 3 minutes. After some wayward shooting from Cottrell and Gorman, Jared Akigbesote timed his run perfectly following an excellent through ball from Cole and he finished in style to make it six. Celtic continued to keep possession with some excellent passing moves throughout the team. Following a rare burst forward, Sean Tully played an excellent pass into Akigbesote, who made in 6 goals in 2 games.
The final 10 minutes saw a few heated tackles which eventually saw the ref send off an Oldcastle midfielder for 2 poor tackles on both Gibbons and Cottrell. Celtic keep their 100% record to remain top of the table with 6 wins from 6.
