Match Report

Celtic were without top scorer Jared Akigbesote and Player of the Year Kris Gorman through suspension but it didn’t matter they took the lead within the first minute after Ciaran Caulfield riffled a long range shot into the top corner. Ciaran double the lead inside 7 minutes after an excellent through ball from Wes Gibbons left him one on one against the keeper. He finished in style to make it 2-0. Some fine saves and some wayward finishing kept the score at 2-0 until Sean Mc Donnell was introduced for the injured Aaron Mc Cormack on the half hour mark. The dangerous midfielder took only 3 minutes to score 2 goals and finish the game as a contest. Mc Donnell was in the right place at the right time for both goals as Ciaran Caulfield and Alan Costello provided excellent passes to setup Sean for his 14th & 15th goals of the season. Celtic started the second half the same as the first with 2 more goals inside the first 5 minutes of the restart. This time 2 excellent finishes by Alan Costello into the bottom corner after he was put through by Conor O’Hare and Ciaran Caulfield to make it 6-0. Man of the Match Joey Cole bossed the midfield by cutting out any danger and continue to drive the team forward regardless of the score. Aaron Mc Cormack was reintroduced and within minutes he setup James Molloy to score his 10th of the season. Both Conor O’Hare and James Molloy grabbed their 12th assists of the season as they setup both Alan Costello and Sean Mc Donnell to score a hat trick each and make it 9-0 Kingscourt worked very hard but unfortunately they came up against a Celtic team in devastating form as they continue their quest for the treble against Kells Blackwater in the shield final next week.
