Ten man Trim Celtic showed huge character to end Quay Celtic's 100% start to their return to the Premier Division. Celtic took the lead on 20 minutes through Derek Donohoe's fifth goal of the season. The lead was doubled when Eoin O'Connor finished Keith Jones' pass on the half hour. The newly promoted Quay pulled a goal back before the break setting up an interesting second half. The restart was delayed due to a nasty leg injury to a Quay Celtic player who had to be removed to hospital by ambulance and all at Trim Celtic AFC would like to wish the player a speedy and full recovery. Ten minutes into the second half the Trim side were dealt a hammer blow as midfielder Keith Jones was harshly awarded a second yellow card for failing to take a free kick from the correct position. Halfway through the half Quay grabbed a winner before Trim Celtic were dealt another blow when captain Cyril Halton was forced off through injury. Despite these setbacks substitute Colm O'Reilly popped up to grab the winner five minutes from time.
