Match Report

29th March, Tully Park NECSL 14 Division 1 Trim Celtic 3 -1 Bohermeen Celtic Trim Celtic scorers: Finn Dardis 2, Ben McCreary On a sunny morning in Tully Park Trim Celtic 14's put in a great display to take all 3 points against local opposition Bohermeen Celtic. Trim started brightly and opened the scoring after great work by James Gibney who fed Ben Darcy in the middle of the park and his clever pass found Ben McCreary who rounded the keeper to put Trim Celtic 1 up. Celtic then lost Mattie O'Connor through injury and his replacement Sean Whelan got straight into the action with some great tackling. Unfortunately Sean himself hd to be replaced through injury but luckily Trim’s bench were all ready for action when called upon. Just before half time good work by Ben Clarke down the left saw him pass to Finn Dardis who finished to the back of the net to put Trim 2-0 up at the break.
Bohermeen came into the match more in the 2nd half and started to cause Celtic problems but the back 4 of Adam Gillen, Luke Gallagher, Simon Timi, Ben Craney and Keeper Ryan Walsh all put in superb 2nd half performances to keep out the Bohermeen attack. The Hoops had chances to increase their lead and Finn Dardis and Ben McCreary both saw efforts saved by the Bohermeen keeper. Bohermeen did pull a goal back from a corner and at 2-1 with 15 mins remaining the game could have gone either way until up steeped Finn Dardis to curl home a cracking shot from the edge of the box. Trim saw the last 15 mins out well to claim all 3 points. Overall a very good squad performance with all 18 players contributing to the win.
