In a windswept MDL Navan Cosmos extinguished Trim Celtic's slim mathematical hopes of winning the Premier Division title. The hosts took an early lead but Celtic responded quickly through Anthony Craig. Celtic took the lead when Paul Campbell lobbed home from a tight angle for his 150th First Team goal but on the half hour mark Cosmos equalised. Despite facing a stiff breeze in the second half Celtic took the lead when Anthony Craig swept home from a breaking corner. Cosmos were't afraid to shoot from long range with the win and their backs with Iain Telford tipping one onto the post before being forced to tip over after a long clearance from his opposing number. Another low skimming shot looked destined to sneak inside the post but Telford shot a good hand on it to tip it around the post. However as the pressure mounted Cosmos equalised courtesy of a wind assisted lob with neither side able to find the winning goal after that.
