Match Report

Trim Celtic scorers: Sean O'Shea 3, Max McGowan 3, Paddy Barnwell 2
Trim Celtic Whites travelled to Baconstown for a 10.00 k.o. on Saturday morning and put in an excellent performance to run out comfortable winners against Enfield. Max McGowan headed Celtic in front after great work by Paddy Barnwell down the right hand side. Barnwell doubled the lead minutes later before McGowan added another. Sam Sweeney and Dylan Hegney created more chances and Sean O'Shea made it 4-0 just before half time.
After the break Celtic continued to dominate with some fantastic moves and O'Shea soon made it 5-0. Enfield then pulled a goal back from the penalty spot but it wasn't long before Celtic got back on the front foot with Dennis Darby rock solid at the back and Charlie Molloy pulling the strings in midfield . Barnwell capped a brilliant individual display, netting his 2nd after superb build up play and O'Shea secured his hat trick thanks to great work from Dylan Coyle to make it 7-1. Sweeney, Molloy and Jack O'Donnell all went close before Hegney rattled the post at the end of a good move involving Tom Boran. But the best goal was saved until last , as Enfield pushed for a consolation goal , Celtic broke quickly with Molloy cutting the defence with a through ball for Hegney to race onto and square the ball for McGowan to coolly claim his hat trick and make it 8-1. Unfortunately last years Player Of The Year, Mark Winters got some bad news last week and is out of action for 3 months without knee injury . Get well soon Mark , from all the lads.
