Match Report

Trim Celtic scorer: Sam Lynch
A 1-1 draw was played out on a greasy pitch at The Grange. For most of the game the Trim side were on top and looked the more dangerous team from the start. After 5 minutes Sam Lynch had a chance but was foiled by a late saving tackle from the Kells centre back. Celtic were well on top through the first half but couldn`t create clear chances. Meanwhile Trim`s defence snuffed out any attacks the hosts managed to mount with Finn O Connor and Casper Jagodzinski soild at full back and David White and the impressive Oisin Gallagher clearing anything that came their way. Jack Fagan and Henri Devine caused problems for the Kells defence and Henri had a shout for a penalty waved away. Oisin Comiskey worked hard on the right flank and linked well with his teammates inside. Sam Lynch had a couple of chances which he couldn`t capitalise on.
In the second half Trim continued to be on top through Dylan Smith and Aidan Scott in central midfield area. Kells battled gamely to hold Trim out and the game looked likely to end scoreless. However on 50 minutes Sam Lynch took the ball inside a defender in the box and prodded the ball home to the bottom right corner. 5 minutes later, in one of very few attacks in the game, Kells scored an equaliser through a very good shot from just inside the box. A reasonable performance on a very greasy pitch from Trim. Both keepers, Donal McGale in the first half and Henri Devine in the second were excellent as thay have been all season. Nathan O Neill and Arnus Mineikis did well when they came on. Standout performances came from Aidan Scott and Oisin Gallagher with Oisin just shading the Man of the Match award.
