Honours were even in this season opener as Trim Celtic had to twice come from behind to draw with 10 man Torro Utd. With kick off delayed due to a clash of colours Celtic started brightly with Colm O'Reilly testing the keeper with a header from a corner on 5 minutes. The home side had a goal disallowed after a tight offside call on 15 minutes but took the lead from a corner on 20. In an end to end affair Celtic's equaliser came in the 30th minute when Mark Leavy's cross ended up in the net with the final touch coming off a Torro defender. Ten minutes into the second half the home side retook the lead with a header from another corner. Ten minutes later Torro were down to 10 men when a midfielder picked up a second booking. Celtic too immediate advantage by scoring the equalising and final goal of the contest when substitutes Aaron Ryan and Niall Farrell combined with the latter applying the finish.
