The Diamonds were under pressure from the kick off, as Albion took control of the game. They went one goal up after 10 minutes. Despite sustained pressure Trim managed to keep it 1 – O at half time, thanks to some terrific saves from Ciara Hanson.
In the second half Trim really turned the game around with the Troy sisters on target. Amy scored after four minutes, followed by a well taken goal from Rachel. Albion’s fate was sealed with a terrific strike by Amy into the top right hand corner of the net. Final score Trim 3 Albion Rovers 1. The Diamonds U11 girls had a battle on their hands as they played St Ultans in Kells last Sunday. Pitch conditions were very soft and the Kells girls opened their account early in the first half. Trim responded quickly afterwards with a goal from Patrese Fox. Once again Kells applied pressure and got an early goal in the second half. Trim fough hard and were rewarded with a well taken goal from Roisin Milner. The girls were unlucky not to win the game as there were good goal scoring opportunities in the last five minutes. The Diamonds are placed third in the league with a game in hand.
