Wow what a day that was. It was a privilege to host the FAI delegation including President Donal Conway, International Manager Mick McCarthy and his Assistant Terry Connor, Ireland International Megan Campbell and Head of Women’s Football and U16s Manager Sue Ronan. The guests visited all stations on the FAI Summer Soccer School that was in progress in Tully Park before posing for group and individual photos.

Our guests couldn’t have been more accommodating and nothing was too much to ask. Megan was swamped for autographs while Sue gave out stellar advice to our players and Mick and Terry posed for photos, superb ambassadors for our game.

As part of the visit Mick conducted some TV interviews on the pitch (so check out the Virgin Media and RTE news bulletins later) before sitting down for his lunch in the away dressing room and then into the home one for more interviews with the print media.

Thank you to our committee for the work they put in getting Tully Park ready and for the much needed refreshments on the day.
Thank you to FA Ireland , FAI Meath and to the fantastic Summer Soccer Schools coaches who had a job on their hands keeping 140 excited kids in check. To all our members and invited guests for making it an occasion to remember and the local and national media for their superb coverage, thank you also.
