Trim Celtic 17s played their annual charity game in aid of Trim Meals on Wheels just before Christmas in the MDL in Navan. Once again the game pitted the current squad against a team made up of ex-players, parents and a few reserve team players. An entertaining encounter saw the 17s recover from a two goal deficit to lead 3-2 as the game ticked into injury time only for the Seniors to equalise with the last kick of the game to secure a 3-3 draw. Specials thanks go to Kevin Meehan’s team for the referee sponsorship, Gerry Gorman for the free use of the pitch and Gavin Meehan and John Barry for helping to organise the opposition. Thanks also to referee John Regan for stepping in at short notice on a day which saw €375 raised for this most deserving of charities.
