Congratulations to Cian Lee who made his international debut today when he lined out for Ireland Under 15s against Scotland at Pat Kennedy Park, home of Listowel Celtic, in Kerry. Cian played all 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw. Cian was a schoolboy player with Trim Celtic until his talents were spotted by top Dublin side Belvedere who he now captains. Cian is no stranger to Tully Park and during the summer was often seen honing his skills at the pitch while his brother Jamie trained with the senior teams. Congratulations Cian, all at Trim Celtic are proud to have had you amongst our ranks.
Whilst the headline was reserved for Cian, Dominic Peppard was also in the squad and played in both games in a double header earning his 3rd and 4th caps. The first game was played in Killarney but ended in a 3-1 defeat for the Boys in Green. In today’s game Ireland took the lead but we’re denied the win by a Scottish goal in the dying seconds. To have lined out for your country is a fantastic achievement for both boys, lining out together is something very special indeed. However it’s not the first time that two former Trim Celtic players lined out for the same International team. In 2002 Tim Clancy and Derek Donohoe took to the field together in a match against France.
