A community games u12 girls team made up of Trim Celtic players travelled to Longford to meet Carlow in the Semi-final of the competition this week-end. Carlow put the Meath team under pressure from the start and scored an early goal. The Meath girls got back into the game and played in the Carlow half putting their back line and keeper under pressure. Dispite some great efforts by Meath, Carlow turned the game arround by scoring a second against the run of the game. The second half saw Carlow snatch a goal from a long range shot. Meath put up a great effort to turn the game, but unfortunately Carlow managed to seal the game with a a late goal to progress to the final. It’s a great achievement for the Meath squad to get to the Leinsters Semi Final. The squad managed by Derek O’Connor and Ann Gunning, were Kate Forde, Sophie O’Connor, Shauna Dempsey, Chloe Butler, Kate Smith, Lili O’Connor, Abrigail Douglas-Wilkinson, Jodie Leavy, Aoibhin Shortt.
