Having won their previous match, in their first outing in the Dublin Metropolitan League, away to St Catherine’s, Dublin, by four goals to one, the girls had another away fixture in Dublin.

The team travelled with a large group of supporters to Sallynoggin.  The match was played on a heavy pitch and saw Trim start somewhat nervously with St Joseph’s dominating the early exchanges.  While Trim settled, St Joseph’s took the lead half way through the first half with a fine goal.  That seemed to spur the Trim girls on as they then began to dominate with some notable surging runs from Sophie Watters and tremendous wing play from Karen Larkin.  A stunning strike from Captain Katie Emmett, set up by Amy Troy, outside the box just zipped over the cross bar.  Some encouraging words at half time from Coach Mark Leavy and manager Helen Malone spurred the Trim girls on as they upped the pace and forced a number of corners.   With about 10 minutes left, another corner kick from Karen Larkin was scrambled clear by the St Joseph’s defence only to be met by a tremendous “lob” attempt by Roisin Milner from nearly 40 yards which Amy Troy followed up on and finished to the net for the equaliser.  While both teams had further chances before the end, Trim came closest with Emma Chamberlain turning on the edge of the box and striking the cross bar.

Final score 1-1.
