Trim Celtic 18’s added theU18 Necsl Cup to their already won League title with a hard won victory over Johnstown with a scoreline of 2-0. With a depleted squad due to suspension and injuries Trim knew they would have to be at their very best. Shortly into the first half another injury caused concern to the sideline when Ali O Halloran injured his knee and his afternoon was cut short. Dispite the setback’s the rest of the team rallied and took complete control of the first half and where rewarded with a headed goal from Aaron Winter’s.

At the start to the second half another of Trim’s players was taken sick and the final sub was used leaving Celtic with the bare bones of a team.

It is credit to the Trim lads that they only allowed Johnstown one serious attempt at goal all afternoon. The Trim back four of Craig Peppard, Dean Courtney, Colin Stowe and Captain Paul Allen where excellant all match and never allowed the Johnstown team the time or space to create goal oppurtunities. In the Midfield  Conor Gibney, Kevin Nally, Ciarian O Rourke Conor Henebery  (First Half)/ Stefan Clarke (Second Half)  tackled hard, provided cover for the defence and supported the front two of Stephen Moroney and Aaron Winters, Not to forget the Keeper Danny Connell who had his quietest game for a while.

Next up for Celtic is a replay of the Cup Final on Wednesday evening in the Mdl at 7pm with the Shield Final against Johnstown, no doubt Johnstown will be hurting from yesterday’s result and our lads will have to be again at their best
