Trim Celtic under 14s girls travelled to Walshestown on Saturday 25th of February to play their second leg of the SFAI cup semi-final. This match was a very important game for Trim because if they won they would be in the cup final against Quay Celtic.
Amy Troy scored the first goal from a free kick that was crossed in by Ciara Hanson. Rhiannon Hoey scored the second goal from the edge of the box. Walshestown were still putting up a good fight, putting Trims defenders Loren Walton, Niamh Moore and Aisling O’Flynn under pressure. Trims Goalkeeper Rachael Arthure stood strong, making two impressive saves to keep the half time score Trim Celtic 2 Walshestown 0.
As the second half kicked off Trim took control straight away. Ciara Hanson placed a low and powerful shot right in front of the Walshestown keeper, scoring her first goal of the season. Walshestown were still determined to get at least a goal but Loren Walton stood strong to keep the final score Trim Celtic 3 Walshestown 0.
