A tense top of the table clash at Clancy Park in Dundalk saw the Trim girls produce a spirited 2nd half fightback to earn a draw with top of the table Quay Celtic.
The game got off to the worse start possible for Trim, conceding a soft goal in the first few minutes. Quay’s centre forward quickly closed down a clearance to force the ball through and over the line. Quay made it difficult for Trim to settle into their normal game. It could have been worse than 1-0 at half time after Quay missed a penalty harshly awarded for handball. In the 2nd half Trim improved and deserved the equalizer thanks to a stunning strike form Zara Sheridan. After the goal Trim looked the most likely team to win the game but Quay managed to hold on to the draw that keeps them in the top spot.
