For the second year in a row Trim Celtic outplayed, outfought and out skilled title chasing Carrick Rovers only to be beaten by the one goal. Carrick came to Tully Park with a highly impressive away league form but in terms of football they offered very little. Even after Carrick took an early lead against the run of play it always looked that Trim would equalize and go on and win the game. However missed chances proved costly in an otherwise very impressive display by Trim Celtic who dominated possession all over the field.5 clear cut chances as opposed to Carricks 1 and 6 second half corners all counted for noting as the luckless home team failed to pick up any points.
