It’s three straight defeats for Trim Celtic’s second string when they came off worse to an unbeaten Duleek side in terrible conditions on Saturday afternoon. Celtic found themselves behind within five minutes but re-grouped well and were rewarded five minutes before the break when Ronan Hayes equalised for his second goal in as many games. Within minutes Duleek retook the lead and an obvious offside gave the table toppers a 3-1 lead at half time.
Trim started brightly in the second half and made it 3-2 within minutes when James Hyland’s excellent pass found Seamus Harte who finished superbly. Celtic missed chances to level the game but it was Duleek who found the net again to score four in succession thanks mainly to some poor defending. Despite the scoreline Celtic had changes throughout to make the score-line more respectable but poor finishing and the crossbar denied them on more than one occasion. Kenny Patterson weighed in with Celtic’s third before Duleek wrapped up proceedings with the last kick of the match.
