Trim Celtic picked up all 3 points in this match on a beautiful evening in Tully Park. The win which was watched by a huge crowd keeps Trim in the hunt for Premier League honors. In fairness Square started very brightly and had the majority of possession while never really threatening to score. The shape of the game changed when on the 20 min mark Derek Donohoe was hacked down just on the edge of the box as he was bearing down on goal. The Square defender was sent off and this changed the shape of the game. Paul Munnelly caused plenty of problems down the right with some great runs. Just before half time David Conway turned well inside the box to put Trim one up. Trim started the second half brightly but with Squares defence playing strong hard football chances were hard to come by. Trim got a let off when square hit the cross-bar. Diarmuid Higgins was introduced with 20 mins remaining and he had an immediate impact turning well inside the box to finish off a good move involving Paul Gilsenan and Derek Donohoe. Paul Cambell was outstanding in the middle for Trim and the defence of Conway, Gilsenan, Fitzsimons and Halton were rock solid. With 10 mins remaining David Conway latched onto a corner to finish the game off.
