Ladies Draw But Still Unbeaten

The Club Ladies shared the spoils this evening at Tully Park in a tough encounter with Dublin side O’Devaney Utd to remain unbeaten in Division 3 North of the Dublin Women’s Soccer League.

After a poor start they settled well & finished the first half very strongly despte going a goal down after 35 minutes when keeper Susan Clancy was beaten to a through ball.

They came out with great enthusiasm after the break & after Manager Karen Halpenny made some personnel changes they began to put the visitors under pressure & it was substitute Avril McGowan who found the net after a corner on the right fell kindly to her ten yards out from goal, to deservedly restore parity.

Keeper Clancy kept the game alive with several good saves & Janet McElroy was very impressive at the back whilst further up the field there were notable performances from Niamh Holmes (pictured heading the ball), Stacey Brien & Sandra Howard.

Next up are St. Mochta’s in Clonsilla next Monday night.
