Only five Club Schoolboy teams were in action on Saturday of this weekend & once again a mixed bag of results.

The U11As travelled to play Kells/Blackwater in Div 1 of the NECSL & came home happy after a fione 3-1 victory. Eoin O’Connor (pictured), Mark Kane & James Cullen were on target to launch Gerry Harte’s boys to the top of their league with a game in hand still over Carrick Rovers who did not play today.

Tyhe U11Bs lost out to Agher Park this morning in Agher in their Div 2 league match. Meara Owens & Cormac Harten were on target in the 2-4 defeat.

The scheduled U12 NECSL Div 1 game against Enfield Celtic was postponed but John Sweeney’s lads travelled to Navan instead to play a friendly against Parkvilla which they¬†won 6-3. Kevin McKeown (2), Stephen Moroney, Ryan Moore, Mantas Cervinskas & Bart Lekke scored.

At the MDL Grounds, the U13As took on visitors Mullingar Ath. in their postponed SFAI Cup match but lost 3-5 on penalties after drawing 1-1 AET. The scorer was Aaron Winters.

The U13Bs dropped their first NECSL Div 2 points of the season when they drew 2-2 with Agher Park in Tully Park but Brian Flood’s team remain top of their league notwithstanding. Dean Courtney got both of Celtic’s goals.

The best result of the day was that of the U14s who took on title rivals Kingscourt Harps in Co. Cavan & emerged victorious by the odd goal in three. Rian Wogan & Donal Callan were the marksmen in an impressive all round performance that puts Nick Nally’s team back ‘in the driving seat’ in the chace for NECSL Div 1 title honours.

The scheduled U15 game was postponed because of an unplayable pitch.

The U16s & U17s were not fixed for games this weekend.
